Ingredients

  1. Potato  4
  2. Onion   2 (big)
  3. Garlic and garlic paste  3 tbsp
  4. Tomato  2
  5. Green chili  4
  6. Cumin seed  1 tbsp
  7. Turmeric powder   1 tbsp
  8. Cumin powder   1 tbsp
  9. Coriander powder  2 tbs
  10. Garam masala powder  1 tbsp
  11. Coriander leaves for garnish

Steps of preparation

  1. Boil potatoes in a pressure cooker or in a microwave. It should not be completely boiled. It should be kind of half boiled.
  2. Peel off potatoes and cut them it into two pieces.
  3. In a pan heat some oil and deep fry all potatoes. Keep it aside.
  4. Leave some oil in the pan. Add cumin seed, cinnamon stick and half finely chopped onion. Fry it for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile grind rest onion and green chili in a mixer grinder. Add this paste to the pan. Fry it 6 minutes.
  6. Add ginger garlic paste to it. If you don't have ginger garlic paste you can grind garlic and ginger along with onion.
  7. Fry it for 7-8 minutes on medium flame.
  8. Add cumin powder, coriander powder to it and fry it till it releases oil.
  9. Make a paste of tomatoes and add. Cook for 6 minutes.
  10. Add fried potatoes. After 2 minutes add some water.
  11. Add garam masala powder and cover it for 2 minutes.
  12. Garnish with green coriander and enjoy with rice or chapati.
